( Lack of words )

so the 4 days longweekend, literally, flew by.
Marianopolis was fun but i think im still going for Vanier.. had HOTPOT with friends for supper that night! ;
Went to L'Oreal outlet Friday and the rest of the weekend = 24h library @_@
So here are some of the stuffs i bought from the outlet :D

L'Oreal Bare Naturale mineral powder & Vichy Dermablend high pigmentation concealer
I didnt open the foundation yet, i bought it for the word ' Mineral' since i love it so much
and the concealer is like the shit. It so thick, a tiny bit goes a long way.

(The missha eyeshadow stick was there for some reason...i didnt buy it at L'Oreals )
Maybelline Eyestudio eyeshadow. well, i dont usually use eyeshadows so i bought something versatile. Taupe brown; shimmery pin and champagne. The champagne can be used as a highlighter and the taupe one, an eyeliner.
Maybelline XXL mascara and L'Oreal one( forgot the name)
Thats my first 2heads mascara; microfiber base and the mascara itself. I find it such a waste of time since the result didnt surprise me. But it wasnt as thick as i thought it would be so im fine with it. The l'Oreal one : ive been using it since 3 years and its awesomely unreplaceble!(however u spell it ..)

...
So recently, I'm taking herbal medecine to restablish my hormones and reduce pimples. I'm at my second week so far and i can see a slight improvement. While taking my medicines, i'm also using honey (goodiiiieee) to help the result. Honey has antibacterial benefits and it heals skin damages. I spread some on my face after i wash it at night and leave it on for a good 30 minutes. I also dilute some with hot water and drink it since it cleanses ur stomach leftovers and helps period pains.
TA-DAA! i bought this huge thing at Costco and i looove it :)

isn't it so cute ?

...

1 month left before christmas finals. I'm stressing my ass out here.. I think i might just move into the library for a month - - I srsly spend more time in the library than at home..thats not right. NOT RIGHT
Such a nerd i am, i even drew a fkn study plan for this month which is to be completed. I sticked it to my desk to remind myself that I.NEED.TO.STUDY.!

Ok u might think i'm crazy now, but I dont understand shit in class so its the only way out.
And guess what i'm going to do now?

Sana face wash, KOSE masks & SKIN79 Dreamgirls bb cream

As I promised, a review of three products that I bought a week earlier :)

SANA SOY MILK Face Wash
I decided to try this one out since its makeup remover was amazing. I adore Japanese drugstore skincares just because they are natural , gentle yet effective. This is Sana soy milk's face wash made out of pure soy beans. It claims to cleanse deeply even removing makeups without being rough to the skin. When I first tried it out, i squeezed out about 3cm of the product ( like i used to do with my old facial wash). But this product foams so amazingly, you only need half a cm. Yes, a pea size is even too much. IT FOAMS LIKE CRAZY. The bottle is quite big so I think it'll last for a quite long time. It feels rly soft and gentle on the skin & when it foams, its almost like massaging foamy whipped cream on your face LOL So it has quite a creamy texture. It doesnt have any smell to it, only a slight tiny teeeeny bit of soy bean scent if you snif hard, since its all natural. I love the idea of using something THAT natural on my skin instead of harshly perfumed products. After washing off, my face felt weird at first. It isnt a tight or dry feeling, but it feels like my skin is so clean that it has a different texture.. But it imediately goes away when you pat your face dry. My skin felt UBBER CLEAN , hydrated, soft and brightened. I actually dont recommand this for dry skins 'cause it might cleanse too much. Also, even tho it removes makeup, its better to use a makeup remover before to not leave any residue behind.
4 out of 5 due to the weird feeling that lasts for a few seconds, if not, its a perfect face cleanser.

KOSE Clear Turn Collagen Essence Mask

Another Japanese drugstore skincare. This is an interesting product. It comes in a tissue-box like little package that contains 26 sheet masks inside. Once you open the seal, you can see its the exact same concept as tissue boxes. You pull on sheet mask out at time and they are all soaked with collagen essence. KOSE clear turn has 4 types of mask pack. This one is collagen elasticity(in pink), theres also whitening essence(blue), Q10 (orange) & hydrating essence(yellow). KOSE masks has the best fit for my face and the tissue is rly thin and strong at the same time. This mask is so convenient! It can be used every single day and 5min is enough since its very concentrated & meant to be a quick S.O.S for ur skin. I use it in the morning before I apply my makeup if my skin feels dry that day. Or when I take a shower at night. The heat in the shower gives even better result. It basically hydrates your skin and gives it a moisture shot. I have to say that I've used quite alot of sheet masks and the problem is no matter how amazing it claims to be, the result is always the same: hydration and brightening. From now on I'm only using this sheet mask and for a better result I will try wash off masks instead.

SKIN79 Dreamgirls BB Cream

Ive been looking for a perfect bb cream for SUCH a long time. I need to clarify that 'perfect bb cream' for me isn't perfect coverage, whitening effect, anti-aging and such. I want a bb cream that acts great as a makeup base which means sheer coverage, light texture, oil control, sun block, natural colour and skincare benefits & all this without being too greasy or thick. I think this one is the closest to perfection. It has spf 30 and PA +++, its very sheer almost liquidy, the colour is very natural(unlike some bb creams with grey, pink undertone or too much whitening effect), it has oil control properties and leaves skin feeling fresh. BB creams all claim to have skincare benefits and dont feel like having makeup on. Out of all bb creams I've tried, this is the only one that actually match these properties. Dreamgirl bb cream is made for teenage girls between the age of 16 and 22. It doesn't have all those fancy effects so its less heavy on your skin. It has papaya and other fruit extracts that get rid of extra sebum and heals blemished skin. It rly feels like a moisturizer or even lighter. The only con would be: I won't wear this to occasions like parities, concert or such cause the coverage is too sheer. It's great for everyday makeup and for girls who are looking for a bb cream that rly feels like no makeup on. Definitely 5 on 5 and will purchase it over and over again.

Hope my reviews helped! Next reviews: MISSHA the style eyeshadow stick, Etude House 66 Big Eye Charm and Skinfood Rice Wash Off Mask

SKIN79 Prestige Diamond BB Cream and SANA makeup remover

Im overly exhausted these days.. Sleeping in around 5am. Woke up pretty early this morning to have lunch with my dear Marina @ Kanda ( yea , you :D I know ur reading this LOOL)
So yesterday, before going to work, I went to buy some stuffs which Im going to review today.

The first one is a makeup remover (oil) Its from the Japanese brand Sana Soy Bean. They have the whole range of skincare products from cleanser to masks. Its actually the bestselling skincare products line in Asia. What makes it so different and so popular is the ingredient. Its made of pure soy beans' goodness and on top of that, no artificial colour, no mineral oil and fragrance free. I personally ADORE soy milk and soya beans and such so I decided to try it out.
The size is smaller than I thought but its 18$ so it didn't rly matter. Basically, you massage the product onto ur face to disolve the makeup and then wash it off with your daily cleanser. It feels rly good on the skin, its very gentle yet effective. It disolves all kinds of makeups, even waterproof mascaras. The best part is, instead of harming your skin which all chemical formulated makeupremovers do, this is actually good for your skin. Im going to continue using this until I find a better makeup remover, which I highly doubt since this is definitely a 5 on 5 product.
Yea the photos were taken on my bed since my desks have no empty spaces xD
The next product is a miniature version of SKIN79 Prestige Diamond BB cream. Skin79 is the first makeup brand to put BB creams on the market and still makes the best nowadays. Ive tried Missha's bb creams because of the high coverage and sun protection it gives. But then I find out that SPF 47 and the super thick coverage only makes me breakout and emphazise my blemishes. So I decided to try products with a lighter consistency , lighter coverage. Every single BB cream products SKIN79 makes are all light weighted and gives a sheer natural coverage. It brightens the skin and has oil control properties. This brand has so many BB cream choices and I chose this one because the functions are very simple which gives less pressure to your skin since at 17 years old, i dont rly need caviar extract or winkle improvement. The Prestige Diamond bb cream is the most light weighted among them, it has the best brightening effect, has oil control while moisturizing. Its is SPF 25 and PA ++. The ingredients are pretty fancy but suitable for young skin, such as gold powder, diamond powder, crystal powder, pearl extract etc. I must say that the coverage is not the best but it still does a better job than a tinted moisturizer for sure. This product actually has an upgraded version called Diamond Absolute Total BB cream. Which has higher SPF , better oil control and better coverage. Its the next bb cream I'm buying and I hope it doesn't let me down.
As I mentioned on the previous post about SKIN79 gold label bb cream, SKIN79's bb creams dont break me out unlike Missha's. So that's a big big plus. I would rate this product a 4 out of 5 due to the sheer coverage but i guess its a 5 out of 5 for many girls out there who have less blemishes. Try it out!

Etude House Tear Drop Liner & SKIN79 BB cream sample

Alohaaaa. Ive been soo busy these days! With working and all. & by the way yesterday was my first day working and it was awesome & stressful LOL Still have alot to learn =)

Back to the topic, I received my eBay order : Etude House Tear Drop Liner in pearl the day before yesterday. It came with a SKIN79 gold lable Silver BB cream sample. So I tried them out yesterday and decided to do a review on both of them
Thats how the liquid liner looks like without flash & i didnt have other makeup on
as u can see its quite sheer but it sparkles under sunlight or ordinary indoor light with small amount

The items
Ok so the reviews.

ETUDE HOUSE Tear Drop Liner
Its a bottom waterline liner which is intended to make your eyes sparkle more and achieves a dolly makeup effect without over doing it.
Its quite sheer as I mentioned but a little goes a long way since it sparkles so much. But the sparkles are suitable for everyday , not like stage makeup or anything. The brush makes the application easier. It doesnt sting the eyes or anything. And i have super sensitive skin. I wore that to work from 5-11 and when I got home, its still on. But then, its rly easy to remove, u can remove it with water and without excessive rubbing. The only con I have for this one is the handle.. its so fucking huge. I think its about 6-7 centimeters while the bottle itself is like 10 cm... It makes it harder to manipulate while putting the makeup on but its no biggie i guess.
Overall I would rate this product 4 out of 5 and will repurchase it for sure.

SKIN79 silver bottle BB cream
Ive heard that skin79's bb creams are very natural, sheer and dont have much coverage. I tried this one out and I must say that it isnt THAT sheer and the coverage isnt THAT bad. It has a creamy texture which is less oily than Missha ones. It felt quite thick when i rubbed them on my fingers but once patted on the face, they blend in quite nicely with my skintone ( NC 20 for reference) and has this half-dewy effect which can lead to an oily effect for people with oily skin. It has some fancy ingredients such as pure gold powder and caviar extract to nurish ur skin and its made for 25+ skin. After 6hours of work, I only had to blot once and I have normal and slight oily skin. After I tried this product out, I would say that SKIN79's bb creams are wayyyyy better than Missha ones according to me. Missha has full coverage which can lead to cakiness, grey undertone, heaviness and too much pressure for the skin. SKIN79 is lighter, sheerer, easier to apply, more natural and it does have a medium coverage. Plus Missha has a quite strong smell but SKIN79 doesnt. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS: Missha broke me out due to the heavy sun protection and coverage, but SKIN79 didnt. So for people who don't have major discolouration, I recommand skin79. & by the way I do have redness and acne scars on my face. I used a primer and this to prep my face then I set it with a thin coat of mineral foundation. The result is on the first picture.

Sooo I hope it helps.

Makeup tutorial

This is so exciting guys, its my fisrt time trying to do a makeup tutorial and I even have a model for this!! And the best part is, she is ubber gorgeous. Thankyou Mika!

Ok so this look is inspired by Korean actresses slash singers. They have a very unique style of makeup which concentrates on glowy translucent skin, sparkling eyes, thick yet natural eyebrows and soft lips. So let's get started!

First of all, mixing tinted makeup base and two different shades of foundation is a perfect way to achieve a thin layered, translucent base yet giving a great coverage. Mika has fair skin but since shes asian so she has a little bit of yellow. The vanilla colour makes the pocelain one more natural on her. These two colours compliment eachother. By adding a tinted makeup base to the mixture, we are diminishing the heaviness of the foundation and adding more luminosity. This could be applied with a brush or a sponge or fingers and toped by a pearl shine loose powder. I also used highlights and blush on her face

The brows have to be thick yet natural. So instead of brushing all the way thru, I filled in the arched spaces above and under her eyebrows to create a thicker illusion. Since her hair colour is light brown, I matched a brown eyeshadow powder and brushed over her eyebrows with upwards and outwards motion. (and she is wearing coloured contact lenses)

Something unique about this makeup is definitely the eyeshadow part. We are trying to create barely-there but luminous eyelids and sparkling undereye. I simply applied a lavender colour pearly eyeshadow onto her lids instead of white cause its less harsh. And a champagne colour eyeshadow under her lower lash line. This makes her eyes shine while keeping the look soft and it also adds punch to this very soft look

Remember, we are trying to make the eyeshadow as natural as possible. So I dabbed some purple eyeshadow (matte) to her outer lids to make her yes pop more. This can be replaced by bronze, brown.. depending on what you like

Eyeliner is probably the only thing in this look that needs to be harsh. Since everything else is so smooth, I used cream + liquid black eyeliner to create a clean cut line. The key is extending all the way to ur inner corner and wing the outer corner, but just a little. and connecting the wing to a 1/3 lower liner. The line in the inner corner should be as thin as possible, gets thicker on top of your iris and gets a tiny bit thiner toward the wing.

Eyelashes should be clean, elongated and natural. So fake lashes aren't recommanded since they will make the eyeliner even harsher

Finish off with pink or coral lips to soft down the eyes. I chose pink to match her eyeshadow and blush. I used a baby pink lipstick with shine and topped it with translucent lipgloss.

And we're done! :)
You can see on this pic that I've applied the pearly loose powder which has a slight tint of pink on her forehead, chin, nose and cheeks to illuminate the whole face.

Voila. Isn't she pretty?
I hope you all enjoyed this. Stay beautiful!

With Love, YZ

Rain shower + Missha Pure Essence Masks

So I was shopping with Marina today and we passed by this newly opened shop near Guy Concordia called C&C korean Cosmetics store. & bought these two Missha Pure Essence Facial Masks cause they were on sales.
Actually I took a pic of what I've been rly loving recently.
The Missha BB Boomer sample, Eyebrow shaper and Olive Oil makeup remover
The BB boomer is a makeup base which holds foundation longer and provides luminosity to your skin.

Ugh , the rain totally ruined this perfect day. I walked back home and got soaking wet.

Being a girl

So recently Ive got a few people asking me if I have a few beauty tips & I decided to make a post about this. I will be sharing a few quick, simple and effective tips from skincare to makeup and last but not least, body toning.

SKINCARE
ok ppl who know me know the fact that I've been dealing with acne and allergies for years. And my skin is getting way better. For girls like me, I got three tips for you.

Makeup remover: deep cleansing is definitely the first step to curing every skin problem. I recently found an awesome makeup remover that works wonders and is so cheap... Olive Oil. Massage olive oil onto ur face and wipe it off with cotton pads. Then clean your face with wtv cleanser you use.

Facial mask: Sugar + honey. Mix two table spoons of sugar into five table spoons of honey and massage onto ur face then wait 30 minutes before washing off. Sugar helps removing dead skin cells while breaking scar tissues. Honey moisturizes while being a natural antibiotic.

Apple cider vinegar: it has all ingredients acne medecines use but only, safer and more natural. After cleansing and moisturzing ur face, dab some on your spots and sleep. The next morning, your pimples will shrink 2 sizes and dry up quickly.

MAKEUP
Girls all love makeup but the key is to keep it as natural as possible. I have some redness on my cheeks due to my sensitive skin.

Makeup base: so when you have lots of redness or imperfections on ur skin, the last thing you want to do is to put tons of foundation on to cover them up. I used to do that..
What you should do is to apply a tinted moisturizer or tinted makeup base to balance out your skin tone before foundation. If you dont have that much imperfections, you can mix your moisturizer with a tinted makeup base. If you do have alot, then mix your tinted makeup base with BB cream or a light liquid foundation. This makes your makeup look less heavier. Then set your face with powder. People with redness should use the colour green, people with yellowness should use the colour purple and people with fair skin should use pink.

Eyeliner: I personally think that eyelining determines the heaviness of your makeup and its the most important part in your makeup routine. You can change your eyeshapes , makeup styles and its heaviness just by using a different technique of eyelining
I like natural eye makeup so I never use liquid eyeliner, i never draw them thick and I never use black eyeliner. I use dark brown eyeliner most of the time.
First, I tightline my eyes. This is called invisible eyeliner. You pull your lids up and line a thin line on your upper water line (closest to your lashes). I usually stop here for school days. If you want more effect. You can simply line your eyes again, smudge it with a Q-tip and wing your line at the outercorner of your eyes. Thats a simple way to achieve a natural look.
I recommand gel or cream eyeliner because they dont smudge, they create soft lines and they are easy to control

Highlighting: this is another subtle ,natural way to achieve wanted result. All you need is white, golden, champagne, pearly or pink highlighter. Whether its liquid, powder or cream. Its all up to you. Now the key points to hightlight on ur face are nose bridge, eyebrow bone, tear duct, center of eyelids, cupids bow, cheekbones and highest point of your chin. I only use highlight on my tear ducts because i find it too much over my foundation. All you need to do is apply to the area and blend in.

BODY
I weight 44kg and I am 157cm or 5'2. I cant say that Im fat but since Im quite petite and my body tend to swell easily, I need to keep my body toned in order to look thin.

Massaging: thats the only effective way to reduce water swelliness(idk if thats a word). Apply body lotion after shower or bath. And massage while pinching and rubing where you want to reduce the swell-ness. You need to feel a little painful but not too much. You dont want to end up looking beaten up.

Stretch and exercises: often when you stay home all day, you really need to move a little so you dont gain too much weight. I stretch my whole body morning and night. 5 min every time is enough. And another tip is, when ur watching tv, take 20 min of your time and run on place while watching tv.

Leg hanging: LOL yes i invented a name for this since I dont know how we call it. So basically this is an effective exercise to stretch your legs' muscles and make them thinner. If your bed has one side against the wall, you can do it on ur bed. Or else, do it on the floor with a blanket. Basically, you are lying down on your back and your upper body & ur lower body form 90 degrees. From your butt to your feet , its upside down and against the wall. Your upper body is lying on ur back. The key is to leave 3cm between your butt and the wall so your legs are not stick to the wall and hence, you have force urself to keep them close to the wall. Two areas should touch the wall, the highest point of your calf and your heels. While doing this you should try your hardest to point your toes. Keep this position for 15 - 25 min. I usually listen to my ipod while doing this. And when you let go, you should feel the blood re-circulating.

Ok that was freaking long. Hope yall enjoyed it and PEACE OUT! :)

With Love YZ
